SAA Dive Leader Course - 2 Star Diver
The SAA Dive Leader course builds on your scuba diving skills and devlops leadership qualities as you start to supervise other divers.
At InDepth Dive Club we take our SAA Dive Leader candidates and pout them through a thorough training regime that prepares them for the responsibilities of taking care of other divers.

1. THEORY
We supply you with the SAA Diver Toolkit, various forms (opposite) for completion, and, as part of your SAA Membership you will receive the Student Record Folder, these will either get shipped directly to you or be given to you in person by your instructor.
You read the manual at home, at your own pace and your instructor will go through the knowledge development with you. This is done with a number of PowerPoint presentations, usually at the club on a Thursday evening or by another evening if your instructor is agreeable.

2. OPEN WATER
With the SAA Dive Leader course, you will likely find yourself back in some familiar dive sites. Cromhall Quarry and Vobster Quay are both used to train novice scuba divers and as you embark on your Dive Leader and 2 Star Diver training you will need to take part in the training of new divers and assist your instructor with their training.

You will learn how to better lead dives, your navigational skills will improve and you will start to learn how to take care of other divers in the water.

This is a rewarding course and a significant undertaking that will take many months to complete. You will become a better diver for all your hard work and take responsibility for dive trips, planning them, organising weekends away, holidays abroad, and, of course, the divers themselves!

The costs associated with this course are varied and complex due to the nature of the course and the time it takes to complete. You will incur travel costs, site entry fees, hardboat diving costs, and the like as you will be taking part in a great deal of diving in order to achieve the Dive Leader / 2 Star Diver rating.
